The gift of gorp...
The cloaked figures that enter the dim light of the slave pens say nothing as they slowly move through the lower floor of the Mekillot wagon opening cages and releasing the slaves bonds. The slaves that had been captured from the little village beside the muddy oasis could see that the cloaked figures were both heavily muscled and armed, but they could not see their faces as they were in deep shadow within the hooded cloaks. The old ashik smiled and with more power in his voice he continued to tell his tale.
Ferulah and Scar separate from the rest of the Company of the Cloaked Inix and sneak through the back alleys of the City of the Dead to flank the Beastmen's position within the circular building, with the aim of coming at them from the northwest. Meanwhile the rest of the Company, having given the pair of warrior women enough time to get into position, prepare to attack from the northeast. Having cast their protective magics, Kank steps out of the shadow of one of the buildings and hurls Earthshaker at the nearest Beastman. The blessed weapon of Gnoriath smashes into the Beastman's leg and a crackle of sparks discharge as the weapon releases it's disruption power in hatred of chaos. The Beastman's leg collapses beneath it and it drops to one knee in pain. Balboa and Scar let loose with missile fire, the Mul earth priests slingstone flys wide but the warrior woman's arrow magically splits in two and both projectiles bury themselves into another of the Beastmen guards. As Kank runs in to melee combat he sticks his hand out and catches the returning Earthshaker, and Scar looses her second arrow but her target dodges the missile. With the element of surprise gone the Beastmen begin to bleat loudly in alarm.
<<THIS IS WHERE THE BASTARD MACHINE DECIDED TO DELETE EVERYTHING THAT I HAD WRITTEN>>
With Kank at the fore the Company of the Cloaked Inix rush down the stairs and along the short corridor towards the light. Ahead of him Kank can see three of the obese chaos worshipers standing in front of a large alter or sarcophagus at the end of a large rectangular room, as he starts to sprint towards them two large Beastmen step out and block the corridor. The first stabs at the big Mul with a bone spear that glances off of Kank’s armour, and the big Mul just manages to dodge the bone club swung by the other Beastman.
Two of the obese chaos worshipers call upon their foul powers and cast spells at Kank, but the powerful counter magic spell cast by the wise Balboa allows him to shrug off their effects. Kank smashes Earthshaker into the spear wielding Beastman and is pleased to hear the sound of breaking bone within it’s right arm, dropping it to the floor in pain. He then dodges the swing of the other Beastman’s bone club but is caught by the headbutt from the same creature. Then the Beastman on the floor spits at Kank and the big Mul is enveloped by the black liquid spat at him. The knowledge gained in the Dreamtime spent with Hrothgurtun tells Kank that it is a Gorp, and that if it isn’t burnt off it will kill him.
Kank shouts to the rest of the Company that the Gorp needs to be burnt off and then in a rage smashes Earthshaker into the creature that spat at him killing it. The acid within the Gorp starts to eat through all of Kank’s armour and the Mul stumbles forwards into the room only to be met by two of the obese chaos worshipers, fortunately for him both of them miss with swings of their weapons. With Kank now in the room it frees up space for Ferulah to get into the fight and she smashes her fist into the club wielding Beastman’s arm, crippling it. Getting a line of sight at Kank, Scar calls on her inner power and casts disruption at the Gorp enveloping him. With her left fist Ferulah punches the last of the Beastmen in the head and kills it.
One of the obese chaos worshipers fumbles his bastard sword and manages to throw it behind him, but the other one scores a blow against Kank's right arm. The Mul's magical armour turns most of the attack but some does penetrate. Kank retaliates with Earthshaker and smashes the greathammer into the fat man's guts. Ferulah follows in and that creates enough space for Miloch to enter the room and get into the fight. The weaponless obese man trudges back towards his weapon, but seeing him wobble off Kank disengages from his fight and hurls Earthshaker at the chaos worshipers back. The blessed weapon of Gnorieth flies true and smashes the obese man off of his feet to land still face down on the floor.
With the rest of the Company now rushing into the room the remaining two chaos worshipers are pushed onto the back foot. Arthur, Ferulah, Miloch, and Scar are all on the attack while Balboa lights a torch and starts to attack Kank, or rather the Gorp enveloping him, with the flaming brand. The Gorp continues to eat through Kank's armour and the acid begins to eat into the big Mul's flesh too. Ferulah hits again and cripples one of the obese men's arms just as Miloch hits the same one in the guts with his iron battleaxe. Arthur hits the other obese man with his lead Troll maul and it drops to the floor unmoving. Ferulah attacks the other fat man again and it too finally collapses to the floor. Almost simultaneously, Kank drops to the floor unconscious from the accumulative damage caused by the Gorp.
The unrelenting Balboa continues to hit the Gorp with a flaming brand while Scar begins to cast disruption spells at the chaos creature enveloping Kank. Arthur stoves in the head of the obese chaos worshiper that he had killed as Balboa hits the Gorp once again and Scar casts another disruption spell. Finally the Gorp dies and slops off of Kank's unconscious body. Everything is quiet, except for the sound of two of the obese chaos worshipers chests collapsing in upon themselves and opening up a gateway to the realm of chaos. And out of that realm step a pair of plague demons.
The Bastard Machine obviously doesn't want this story to be told!
