Tales Under a Burning Sun

As the burning sun slowly sank below the dunes the herders and the old ashik could just make out the lights of the town in the distance. Knowing that the gates would be closed long before they could reach them, the brothers decided to make camp and wait until dawn. As they settled down with a small meal the old man continued his tale. Looking pleased with the group’s decision to accept the quest that she had laid out for them, the High Priestess gestures to one of the massive male Trolls standing behind her throne. The massive humanoid moves towards a niche behind the thrones and picks up a large chest which he places on the floor in front of Scar. Haelia steps forwards and removes items one by one from the chest and hands them to Scar, who in turn, passes them to members of the group. First there is a box of processed Gloomvine powder, enough for one thousand five hundred doses of Midnight’s Kiss. The old ashik finished serving their small breakfast while the two herders made sure that the kank were ready to travel. When they sat down he handed each brother a small bowl of food and then sat cross legged with his own meal. In between mouthfuls he continued his tale. Arthur and Balboa scramble away from the lip of the sinkhole and pick themselves up. Arthur lights a torch and holds it high, before him he can see a fifteen foot wide hole in the floor of the riverbed disappearing down into the dark. Balboa lights a second torch and lowers it into the hole on the end of a rope that Arthur gives him, it reveals several narrow ledges that curl out of sight. There is no sign of Miloch or Scar. Balboa looks up towards the bridge and shouts for Ferulah and Kank. Ferulah takes one look at the rope and then ignores it and climbs down the wall itself. Kank grabs hold of the rope and slides over the edge of the bridge and down to the riverbed just in time to see Ferulah jump the last ten feet...
